Use LimitLog's notes and tasks features to stay organized.

Beyond tracking usage, LimitLog includes notes and tasks features to help you stay organized with your subscription management.

Notes

What Are Notes?

Notes are quick, color-coded cards for capturing thoughts related to your subscriptions:

  • Reminders about upcoming renewals
  • Ideas for tools to try
  • Notes about pricing changes
  • Anything else you want to remember

Creating a Note

  1. Navigate to the Notes page
  2. Click + Add Note
  3. Enter a title
  4. Add content (optional)
  5. Choose a color
  6. Click Create

Note Colors

Choose from several colors to organize visually:

  • Yellow — Default, general notes
  • Blue — Information, research
  • Green — Positive, completed
  • Pink — Important, urgent
  • Purple — Ideas, future plans

Editing Notes

Click on any note to edit:

  1. Click the note card
  2. Modify title, content, or color
  3. Changes save automatically

Deleting Notes

  1. Hover over a note
  2. Click the delete icon
  3. Confirm deletion

Tasks

What Are Tasks?

Tasks help you track subscription-related to-dos:

  • "Cancel unused Notion subscription"
  • "Check Cursor usage before renewal"
  • "Compare ChatGPT vs Claude pricing"
  • "Update Figma team seats"

Creating a Task

  1. Navigate to the Tasks page
  2. Click + Add Task
  3. Enter the task title
  4. Set optional details:

- Description

- Due date

- Priority

  1. Click Create

Task Priority

Assign priority levels:

  • Low — Can wait, not urgent
  • Medium — Should do soon
  • High — Urgent, do first

Priority affects visual styling and sort order.

Due Dates

Set due dates for time-sensitive tasks:

  • Overdue tasks are highlighted
  • Upcoming tasks show days remaining
  • No date = no deadline

Completing Tasks

Click the checkbox to mark a task complete:

  • Completed tasks move to the bottom
  • They remain visible for reference
  • Delete when no longer needed

Editing Tasks

Click on any task to edit:

  1. Click the task
  2. Modify any field
  3. Click Save

Deleting Tasks

  1. Click the task menu (...)
  2. Select Delete
  3. Confirm deletion

Create tasks for important dates:

  • "Review Ahrefs subscription (renews Jan 15)"
  • "Decide on Cursor annual vs monthly"
  • "Check if Vercel Pro is worth it"

Research Notes

Keep notes while evaluating tools:

  • "Claude vs ChatGPT: Compare for my use case"
  • "Notion alternatives to research: Obsidian, Coda"

Budget Planning

Track spending decisions:

  • "Monthly SaaS budget: $200"
  • "Consider downgrading Figma to Starter"

Cancellation Tracking

Note when and why you cancelled:

  • "Cancelled Grammarly - not using enough"
  • "Paused Midjourney - will resume for project X"

Organization Tips

Use Colors Consistently

Develop a personal color system:

  • Yellow for general notes
  • Pink for urgent items
  • Green for completed research

Keep Tasks Actionable

Write tasks as actions:

  • Good: "Cancel Slack subscription"
  • Less good: "Slack"

Review Weekly

Set aside time to:

  • Complete or update tasks
  • Archive old notes
  • Add new items

Link to Apps

Reference your tracked apps in notes:

  • "Cursor usage is high this month - check if Pro is enough"
  • "ChatGPT Plus worth it? Compare to Claude usage"

Pro Plan

Same as free — notes and tasks are fully available on all plans.
